Football Rules: Corners Handicap

Market description: Predict which team will take the most corners after the handicap spread has been applied.

  • A handicap of (+/-) one or more corners will be given to one of the teams which will be added to the actual number of corners taken by them during the match.
  • Example: Chelsea v Aston Villa (+3). Chelsea took eight (8) corners and Aston Villa were awarded six (6).
  • The handicap spread of (+3) is added to the actual number of corners taken by Aston Villa during the match.
  • The winning selection will be Aston Villa with 9 corners.

1. Bets are settled on the events that occur in normal time. This includes any injury/stoppage time added on by the match official at the end of normal time.

2. Extra time doesn't count.

3. A corner awarded but not taken won't count.

4. A corner that's retaken on the instruction of the match official will only count once.

5. If both teams take the same number of corners after the handicap spread has been applied, the winning selection in this market will be a tie.

6. If a match is postponed, normal postponed match rules apply.

7. If a match is abandoned, normal abandoned match rules apply.

8. Settlement of all stats markets will be based on data provided by OPTA (Part of the Stats Perform Group).

  • OPTA stats are available here.
  • OPTA may occasionally go back and make amendments to ensure accuracy. We'll settle all markets based on their final decision.
  • Adjustments to the settlement of markets won't be made for changes or adjudications made by governing bodies after the event.
  • OPTA have a long-established list of ‘Event Definitions’ which are adhered to across all of their data collection centres. They can be accessed here.
