Football Rules: Player v Player Match Bet

Market description: Select a player to score more goals than another player from the options available.

1. Bets are settled on the events that occur in normal time. This includes any injury/stoppage time added on by the match official at the end of normal time.

2. Extra time doesn't count.

3. Own goals don't count towards goals scored.

4. If neither player scores and/or only scores own goals in the match, the winning selection in this market will be a tie.

5. If both players score the same number of goals, the winning selection in this market will be a tie.

6. If a price for a tie is not quoted, bets placed on this market will be void.

7. If both/either selected players leave the field of play without scoring a goal, the winning selection in this market will be a tie.

8. If both/either selected players do not start the match but enter the field of play at any time, bets placed on those players in this market will stand.

9. If both/either selected players take no part in the match, bets placed on those players in this market will be void.

10. If a match is postponed, normal postponed match rules apply.

11. If a match is abandoned, normal abandoned match rules apply.

  • If one (1) of the selected players has left the field of play in the time played before abandonment, and the player remaining on the field of play has scored more goals than the player who has left the field of play, bets placed on that player in this market will stand.
  • If both selected players have left the field of play in the time played before abandonment, bets placed on those players in this market will stand.
  • If both selected players are still on the field of play and both/either haven't scored at the time of abandonment bets placed on those players in this market will be void, subject to normal abandoned match rules, regardless of the number of goals scored, because the match didn't play for the full duration.

12. Settlement of all stats markets will be based on data provided by OPTA (Part of the Stats Perform Group).

  • OPTA stats are available here.
  • OPTA may occasionally go back and make amendments to ensure accuracy. We'll settle all markets based on their final decision.
  • Adjustments to the settlement of markets won't be made for changes or adjudications made by governing bodies after the event.
  • OPTA have a long-established list of ‘Event Definitions’ which are adhered to across all of their data collection centres. They can be accessed here.
