Self-Exclusion and How to Set One


If other tools available aren't working effectively and you want to stop yourself from gambling completely, then total Self Exclusion is available.

What's Self Exclusion?

  • Gaming can be harmful if it isn't controlled.
  • If other tools available aren't working effectively and you want to stop yourself from gambling completely, then total Self Exclusion is available.
  • We'll close your account(s), preventing access to it for the time period specified (between 6 months and 5 years).
  • This can't be reversed under any circumstances and you agree not to open any new accounts.
  • Your account will only be re-opened if you contact us to request it after the Self Exclusion period has expired.

What else do I need to know?

  • When you self-exclude, providing that all checks and outstanding requests have been completed your withdrawal will be automatically refunded to you.
  • Any open bets will be honoured and settled when the result is known, and any winnings will be paid out.
  • Before you self-exclude, please close any open gaming sessions.
  • We strongly recommend that self excluded customers uninstall any mobile gambling apps, and request parallel Self Exclusions from any other betting companies you hold accounts with.
  • Within 48 hours of starting your Self Exclusion, we'll remove you from our marketing distribution lists for the duration of your Self Exclusion.
  • If you've subscribed to any third party sites advertising William Hill, please contact them independently to remove yourself from their mailing lists.
  • We take player safety seriously, and if you try to open other accounts with us during your period of exclusion we'll do our best to detect and close them.
  • In the event you don't choose to update us with any changes in your personal information and you open a new account, we won't be held liable for subsequent decisions to gamble and your deposits and any winnings or losses incurred will stand. Once identified as belonging to you, any new accounts will be closed by us and any unspent balances will be returned.

  • If at the end of your total self-exclusion you feel you're fully in control of your gambling, contact our Customer Service team who can re-open your account. A 24-hour cooling off period will apply, during which time please carefully consider if re-opening is right for you.
  • We also recommend for you to check the following software providers that can block gambling sites and/or applications from your device:

IMPORTANT:

  • From 20 April 2023, any NEW Self-Exclusion request will be extended to any related accounts we identify that you hold with 888 group brands: 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, 777.com and William Hill. If you already have another active self-exclusion agreement(s) with 888 group brands, we will extend the expiry date of all self-exclusions to the date furthest in the future.
  • If, prior to 20 April 2023, you Self-Excluded with William Hill then your Self-Exclusion will only apply to William Hill. You can choose to extend your Self-Exclusion by accessing the online option on 888 and 777.
  • From 20 April 2023, if you register a new account with William Hill and already have an active self-exclusion with 888casino, 888poker, 888sport, 777.com, we will apply your self-exclusion to all 888 group brands including William Hill.

I want to request a Self Exclusion - how do I do it?

How do I request a Self Exclusion on the new Sportsbook website?

  1. Login to your account and click on the balance icon at the top of the screen.
  2. In the dropdown menu, click on ‘Safer Gambling’.
  3. Click on 'Self Exclusion'.
  4. Click on 'Terms & Conditions'.
  5. Carefully read the terms and conditions, and click 'I have read terms and conditions'.
  6. Choose your Self Exclusion period from the available options.
  7. Enter your password.
  8. Click on 'Confirm - I want to self-exclude'.
  9. You'll see a confirmation on screen.

 

How do I request a Self Exclusion on the Gaming sites or App?

  1. Login to your account and click on the balance icon at the top of the screen.
  2. In the dropdown menu, click on ‘Gambling Controls’/‘Account Controls’.
  3. Click on 'Gambling Controls'.
  4. Click on 'Total Self-exclusion' at the bottom of the page (or alternatively click here).
  5. Carefully read the terms and conditions, and click 'I have read terms and conditions'.
  6. Choose your Self Exclusion period from the available options.
  7. Enter your password.
  8. Click on 'Confirm - I want to self-exclude'.
  9. You'll see a confirmation on screen.
