Football Rules: Total Goalkeeper Punches
Market description: Predict whether the number of punches made in a match by the named goalkeeper will be over the number specified.
-
Over two (2) punches = at least three (3) punches or more
1. Bets are settled on the events that occur in normal time.
- This includes injury/stoppage time added on by the match official at the end of normal time.
2. Extra time doesn’t count.
3. A punch is defined as a high ball that is punched clear by the goalkeeper.
-
The keeper must have a clenched fist and be attempting to clear the high ball rather than claim it.
4. Bets placed on this market will stand if the selected goalkeeper doesn’t start the match but comes on as a substitute at any point in the match.
5. If the selected goalkeeper leaves the field of play without making over the specified number of punches, bets placed on that goalkeeper will have lost and will be settled as losers.
6. If the selected goalkeeper takes no part in the match, bets placed on that goalkeeper will be void.
7. If a match is postponed, normal postponed match rules apply.
8. If a match is abandoned, normal abandoned match rules apply.
- If a match is abandoned and the over selection has been won in the time played before abandonment, bets placed on that selection in this market will have already won and will be settled as winners.
- If a match is abandoned and the selected goalkeeper has left the field of play without making the required number of punches in the time played before abandonment, bets placed on that goalkeeper in this market will have already lost.
- If a match is abandoned and the selected goalkeeper is still on the field of play and hasn't made the required number of punches at the time of abandonment, bets placed on that goalkeeper in this market will be void, subject to normal abandoned match rules, because the match didn't play for the full duration.
9. Settlement of all stats markets will be based on data provided by OPTA (Part of the Stats Perform Group).
- OPTA stats are available here.
- OPTA may occasionally go back and make amendments to ensure accuracy. We'll settle all markets based on their final decision.
- Adjustments to the settlement of markets won't be made for changes or adjudications made by governing bodies after the event.
- OPTA have a long-established list of ‘Event Definitions’ which are adhered to across all of their data collection centres. They can be accessed here.
