FAV

Favourite

The favourite is the shortest priced selection in an event.

JF

Joint Favourite

This is when selections cannot be split for favouritism - should two selections return at the shortest price in an event, these are known as joint 1st and 2nd favourites.

CF

Co-Favourite

This is where three or more competitors share the status as favourite (have lowest odds).

If there are three co-favourites, the abbreviation will be CF3; if there are four co-favourites it will be CF4 and so on.

2F

Second Favourite

The second favourite is the selection with the second shortest price in an event.

C2F

Co-Second Favourite

This is where two or more selections share the second shortest price in a race or event.

If there are two co-second favourites, the abbreviation will be C2F2; if there are four co-favourites it will be C2F4 and so on.

EVS

Evens

This the equivalent to 1/1 in fractional odds.

With a price of 1/1 for every £1 you place you win £1 plus your £1 stake back.

FC/SFC

Forecast/Straight Forecast

This bet involves 2 selections in 1 race finishing 1st and 2nd in the order named.

RFC

Reverse Forecast

This bet involves 2 selections in 1 race finishing 1st and 2nd in either order.

As such there are 2 bets involved - two straight forecast bets.

CFC

Combination Forecast

This bet involves 3 or more selections in a race, with any 2 to finish 1st and 2nd in any order.

The easiest way to calculate the number of bets in a CFC is No. of Selections x Preceding number, so if you place a combination forecast with four selections, there will be twelve bets: 4 x 3.

TC/STC

Tricast/Straight Tricast

This bet involves 3 selections in a race finishing first, second and third in the order named.

CTC

Combination Tricast

This bet involves 3 selections in a race finishing first, second and third in any order.

To calculate the number of bets in a combination tricast (CTC), the formula is No. of selections x preceding number x preceding number-1, so if you place a combination tricast with three selections, there will be six bets : 3 x 2 x 1.

NR

Non-Runner

A non-runner is a selection which is void for betting purposes.

If you've placed a single and your selection is marked as a non-runner, your stake will be returned.

If you've placed a multiple bet and one or more of your selections are marked as non-runners, your bet will be settled on the remaining selections.

NRMB

Non Runner Money Back

Non Runner Money Back applies to previous ante post races where the final declarations have been decided and where your stake will be returned if your selection doesn't run.

It may also result in a Rule 4 being applied on remaining selections depending on the last price of the non runner.

We may also on occasion offer NRMB as a concession in major races prior to the final declarations, in which case you'll receive your stake back if your selection is a non-runner. In this example however, no Rule 4 will be applied.

E/W

Each-Way

An each-way bet is a bet made up of two equal stakes.

One stake is on your selection to win the event, the other is for the selection to be placed according to the place terms on the website coupon at the time of betting.
