UK & Irish Horse Racing Rules: Forecast and Tricast Markets



Straight Forecast

Market description: Predict two horses to finish first and second in the correct order for a given race.

 

1. Bets are accepted for horse race meetings held under the rules of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) and are settled on the official result.

2. Forecasts are accepted on horse races of three or more runners.

3. Bets will be settled at the official industry forecast dividend sometimes denoted as SF or CSF.

4. If one of the selected horses is withdrawn from the race at any time, bets placed on this market will be settled as an SP win single on the remaining horse.

5. If both selected horses are withdrawn from the race, bets placed on this market will be void.

6. If one or more withdrawn horses reduce the number of runners in the given race to two, bets placed on this market will be settled as an SP win single on the selection nominated to finish first.

7. If there is a dead heat for first or second place, a separate dividend will be declared for each winning forecast combination.

8. If only one horse finishes the given race, bets placed this market will be settled as an SP win single on the selection nominated to finish first. All other forecast bets will have lost.

9. If a William Hill SP is returned it will take precedence over any other declared SP and the forecast dividend will be calculated on the final show of betting.

10. If no SP is returned the forecast dividend will be calculated on the final show of betting broadcast by our service provider.

11. If no betting shows are broadcast forecast bets will be settled at Totepool odds.

12. If a race is abandoned, declared void or has only one runner (also known as a walk-over), bets placed on horses in that race will be void.

13. Adjustments to settlement won't be made for amended results or adjudications made by governing bodies after the weigh-in when the official result is declared.

Reverse and Combination Forecast

Market descriptionPredict two or more horses to finish first and second in any order for a given race.

 

1. Bets are accepted for horse race meetings held under the rules of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) and are settled on the official result.

2. Forecasts are accepted on horse races of three or more runners.

3. Bets will be settled at the official industry forecast dividend sometimes denoted as SF or CSF.

4. Reverse forecast bets are made up of two equal stakes meaning that a £5 reverse forecast has a total stake of £10.

5. Combination forecast bets are made up of equal stakes to cover the number of possible outcomes, meaning that a £2 combination forecast on three runners has a total stake of £12 etc.

6. If one or more of the selected horses are withdrawn from the race at any time, and at least two selections remain, bets placed on this market will be broken down into separate bets being settled as separate forecasts and SP win singles.

  • Example: A £2 combination forecast with a total stake of £12 is placed on Horse A, B and C before C is withdrawn from the race.
  • The bet will be settled as: A|B forecast A|C SP single A B|A forecast, B|C SP single B C|A SP single A C|B SP single B.

7. If all selected horses are withdrawn from the race, bets placed on this market will be void.

8. If one or more withdrawn horses reduce the number of runners in the given race to two, bets placed this market will be broken down into separate bets and settled as SP win singles on the remaining selections.

2. Tricasts are accepted on handicap races of eight or more runners, unless indicated otherwise.

3. Bets will be settled at the official tricast dividend sometimes denoted as TC or CTC.

4. If one of the selected horses is withdrawn from the race at any time, bets placed on this market will be settled as a straight forecast on the remaining horses.

  • If two of the selected horses are withdrawn from the race at any time, bets placed on this market will be settled as an SP win single on the remaining horse.
  • If all selected horses are withdrawn from the race, bets placed on this market will be void.
  • If one or more withdrawn horses reduce the number of runners in the given race to five or fewer, bets placed this market will be settled as a forecast on the selections nominated to finish first and second.

5. If there is a dead heat for first, second or third place, a separate dividend will be declared for each winning tricast combination.

6. If only two horses finish the given race, bets placed on this market will be settled as a straight forecast on the selections nominated to finish first and second. All other tricast bets will have lost.

7. If only one horse finishes the given race, bets placed on this market will be settled as an SP win single on the selection nominated to finish first. All other tricast bets will have lost.

8. If a William Hill SP is returned it will take precedence over any other declared SP and the tricast dividend will be calculated on the final show of betting.

9. If no SP is returned the tricast dividend will be based on the final show of betting broadcast.

Combination Tricast

Market descriptionPredict three or more horses to finish first, second and third in any order for a given race.

  • If one or more of the selected horses are withdrawn from the race at any time, and at least three selections remain, bets placed on this market will be broken down into separate bets being settled as separate tricasts and forecasts.
  • If only two selections remain, bets placed on this market will be broken down into separate bets being settled as separate forecasts and SP win singles.
  • A £2 combination tricast with a total stake of £12 is placed on Horse A, B and C before C is withdrawn from the race.
  • The bet will be settled as: A|B|C forecast A|B A|C|B forecast A|B B|A|C forecast B|A, B|C|A forecast B|A C|A|B forecast A|B C|B|A forecast B|A

 

1. If all selected horses are withdrawn from the race, bets placed on this market will be void.

2. If one or more withdrawn horses reduce the number of runners in the given race to five or fewer, bets placed this market will be settled as a combination forecast.

3. If there is a dead heat for first, second or third place, a separate dividend will be declared for each winning tricast combination.

4. If only two horses finish the given race, bets placed this market will be settled as a forecast on the selections nominated to finish first and second in each tricast combination.

5. All tricast combinations that do not nominate the horses finishing first and second in the correct order will have lost.

6. If only one horse finishes the given race, bets placed on this market will be settled as an SP win single on the selection nominated to finish first in each tricast combination.

7. If a William Hill SP is returned it will take precedence over any other declared SP and the tricast dividend will be calculated on the final show of betting.

8. If no SP is returned the tricast dividend will be calculated on the final show of betting broadcast by our service provider.

9. If a race is abandoned, declared void or has only one runner (also known as a walk-over), bets placed on horses in that race will be void.
