William Hill is an agent for the Tote allowing our LBOs, Telephone Betting Centre and www.williamhill.com to accept bets at Tote odds on horse racing in Great Britain and selected pools in the Republic of Ireland and other countries where we advertise acceptance.
- Our rules for Tote are exactly the same as what the tote has - any changes to the Tote means ours should reflect this.
- All Tote bets are placed directly into the live Tote pool and are settled on the rules of the UK Tote.
- In circumstances where bets do not reach the pool, customers will have their stakes refunded and William Hill won't be liable for any loss of winnings that would have been due had the bet reached the pool.
- When your bet has been processed, your betting slip will appear with confirmation that your bet has been placed.
- In the event of any difference between your original slip and your receipt, the selections and stake entered into the Tote pool will determine settlement.
- The bets accepted at horse race meetings in Great Britain are the Scoop 6, Jackpot, Placepot, Quadpot, Trifecta, Exacta, Swinger, win, place and any other new bet introduced by the UK Tote.
- Where the UK Tote offer a pool facility for horse race meetings taking place outside Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, bets will be accepted.
- Where we offer a facility for Tote bets from horse race meetings in the Republic of Ireland, the rules are the same as those of the UK Tote.
- Bets are placed using the official racecard numbers.
- If the official number is misprinted in the racecard, then the number declared by the racecourse will take precedence.
- In the event of any dispute arising from the horse name/number, bets will be settled on the horse number printed on the captured image of the customer receipt.
- All Tote bets are settled on the official result.
- Winning dividends are calculated by dividing the total amount of stakes entered into the pool (less deductions) by the number of winning units.
- Where no winning dividend is declared, the pool is carried forward to a nominated race(s) or meeting(s).
- The percentage deductions taken from each pool for horse race meetings in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland as of the 1st January 2019 are as follows:
