Do you charge a fee for my account?
If you're an active account holder, you'll face no fees or charges.
However, if your account remains unused for 13 consecutive months and has a positive balance, a monthly administration fee will apply for the maintenance of the William Hill account.
We'll attempt to repay your full balance to your most recently used payment method before fees apply.
We’ll notify you by email (and SMS if needed) before any monthly inactivity fee is charged.

Understanding Your Account Status and Fees
What is considered a "dormant" or "inactive" account?
- Your account is considered inactive if it remains unused for 13 consecutive months.
How much is the inactivity fee?
- The monthly inactivity fee for Sterling accounts is £3.
- If your account balance is less than the stated monthly fee, only the full remaining balance will be deducted, bringing your account balance to zero.

How often will the inactivity fee be charged and for how long?
- The monthly inactivity fee will be automatically deducted on the 28th of each month and will continue for as long as your account remains inactive or until your balance reaches zero.
- Once your account balance reaches zero, no further Inactive Account Fees will be taken, and you will not be charged through any linked payment methods.
When will the inactivity fee start being applied to my account?
- The inactivity fee will be applied at least 30 days after William Hill's attempt to contact you about your account becoming inactive.
How will I see the inactivity fee on my account?
- The inactivity fee will be displayed on your account statement as 'Inactive Account Fee' in your transaction history, it will show as a manual adjustment.
Notification and Communication Process
How will William Hill notify me about my dormant account?
- Prior to applying any monthly inactivity fee, William Hill will notify you via email.
- If the email is undeliverable (e.g., it bounces back), an SMS notification will be sent, provided a valid phone number is on file.
- If your registered contact details are otherwise invalid, William Hill will proceed with applying the inactivity fee.
Repayment Attempts and Withdrawals
Is William Hill attempting to repay my balance?
- Yes. As part of this process, William Hill will attempt to reimburse your full balance to the last active payment method on your account before any inactivity fees are charged.
Which payment method will William Hill attempt to use for repayment?
- If your most recent payment method is active and supported, William Hill will attempt to reimburse your remaining balance to that method.
- To ensure successful reimbursement, the payment method must be valid, supported, and not expired.
What happens if my last payment method is expired, no longer supported, or cannot be used for a repayment?
- If your account’s most recent payment method is inactive or expired, we won’t be able to process a reimbursement.
- If reimbursement of your remaining balance isn’t possible due to an unsupported payment method, we’ll notify you to update your payment method via SMS.
- In this scenario, once you have updated your payment method, your account will show as ‘active’ and will no longer be charged the inactivity fee.
- Should you wish to withdraw your funds on your account, you will need to do this manually.
- If no action is taken to reactivate your account after this email/SMS notification, the monthly inactivity fee will be applied.
I want to withdraw my balance, but my account has less than the minimum withdrawal limit?
- You can withdraw you funds at any time within your account provided you have a valid withdrawal method setup.
- In some cases, there is a minimum amount required to process a withdrawal.
- However, if your balance is below this minimum withdrawal limit, you can still request a withdrawal for the full balance in your account.
How can I update my payment method?
- Detailed instructions on how to add a new payment method can be found here.
